Transforming the global market research and consulting firm 75,300 square feet office space into a vibrant office that embodies individuality, diversity, and creativity while reflecting the latest design trends.
Recognising that a well-designed workspace can significantly enhance employee engagement, Ipsos collaborated with DB&B Shanghai to reimagine their office environment. The goal was to create a dynamic space that not only embraced contemporary design trends but also reflected Ipsos’s core values of individuality, diversity, and creativity. This collaborative effort aimed to foster a vibrant culture that supports their workforce, ensuring that every employee feels valued and inspired in their new surroundings.
Design To Engage
Central to the Ipsos office design was the belief that people are the most valuable assets in the workplace. The design was carefully developed to foster social connections, enhance collaboration, and support employee health and well-being. By emphasising these aspects, the new office environment transformed into a sanctuary where employees could engage, connect, and draw inspiration in their daily work.
Cultural Integration
Reflecting Ipsos’ vibrant culture, the office design boldly departed from traditional frameworks, seamlessly integrating unique decorative structures that honour Shanghai’s rich heritage. These design elements went beyond aesthetics; they were thoughtfully woven into the workspace to resonate deeply with Ipsos’ corporate ethos.
By intertwining local cultural motifs with modern design principles, the office serves as a testament to Ipsos’ commitment to creativity and diversity, while also fostering a sense of belonging among employees. This harmonious blend of tradition and modernity encourages collaboration and dialogue across teams, cultivating an environment where ideas can thrive and innovation flourishes.
Green Wall Integration
To elevate engagement and foster a sense of connection within the workplace, a biophilic green wall was seamlessly integrated into the office space. This striking feature, designed using Ipsos’ corporate colours, serves as a guiding element for both employees and visitors, leading them from the entrance to the rear of the office. Beyond its vibrant aesthetic appeal, the green wall cultivates a deeper sense of identity and belonging among employees, creating a lively and inviting atmosphere that resonates with the company’s core values.
Cohesive Design Elements
The furniture was selected for ergonomic comfort and modern aesthetics, promoting collaboration through soft seating areas designed for informal interactions. Acoustic panels were incorporated to manage sound in the busy work environment, fostering a focused and productive atmosphere. These panels featured colours and patterns that complemented the overall design scheme, enhancing visual harmony throughout the space.
The carpets played a crucial role in the office layout, adding warmth and texture while serving as wayfinding elements to guide employees and visitors. Wall colours were chosen to create an inviting and energizing atmosphere, utilising Ipsos’ corporate palette to reinforce brand recognition. Soft, vibrant hues were paired with neutral tones, striking a balance that is both stimulating and calming.
Multifaceted Seminar Rooms
A standout feature of the new office design is the creation of the unique seminar rooms, each showcasing a distinct style. These spaces were thoughtfully designed to accommodate a diverse range of visitors and clients, ensuring that every interaction is memorable and reflective of Ipsos’ commitment to diversity and creativity. Each seminar room offers a tailored environment, fostering engaging discussions and innovative ideas, while reinforcing the company’s dedication to creating inclusive and inspiring spaces.
Building a Vibrant Community
In 2022, during the global pandemic, our design team collaborated with Ipsos entirely online, overcoming challenges through effective virtual communication. The resulting office exemplifies thoughtful, culture-driven design, prioritising employee well-being and inter-connectedness. This vibrant space mitigates the impact of relocation while enhancing satisfaction and productivity. With unique cultural elements, diverse seminar rooms, and cohesive design choices, the new Ipsos office transforms the workplace into a dynamic community that embodies the core values of the company.
