Conexus Studio | A data-driven design approach transforms Murex’s Singapore headquarters into a dynamic hub that boosts productivity, accelerates decision-making, and fosters community.
Conexus Studio | Between the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sweeping views of Marina Bay, it becomes clear that Murex’s Singapore headquarters isn’t simply an office to work in — it’s a place to belong.
Far from a standard corporate relocation, the move was a bold experiment in redefining what a workplace could be. The ambition: to create a destination office that inspires performance, cultivates community, and adapts to the evolving needs of its people. Months of planning, employee surveys, and stakeholder dialogues culminated in a space that feels less like a traditional office and more like a curated neighbourhood designed for connection and focus.

Rounded ceiling accents and live plants soften the lounge, inviting visitors to rest and soak in the views of Marina Bay.
The Strategic Divide
The layout establishes a deliberate division between the client-facing front of house and the consultant workspace behind it. Arrival is deliberate but restrained. The reception lounge opens toward Marina One’s landscaped atrium, with seating arranged like a boutique hotel rather than a waiting area. Here, Murex welcomes clients into a warm, professional atmosphere anchored by a 20-person boardroom and a suite of flexible meeting rooms.
Beyond the reception, the office’s cultural heart unfolds — a generous social hub with the relaxed aesthetics of a café. Rattan textures, soft curves, and greenery invite colleagues to pause and connect. Distinctive “squircle” tables (a blend of square and circle) cluster for team gatherings or stand alone for spontaneous conversations. A mural tracing Murex’s global footprint introduces a subtle narrative element without overwhelming the material palette.

Curves and rounded corners enhance the flow throughout the space, fostering a more comfortable, organic and human-centric experience.
Adding adaptability to this space, two meeting rooms fitted with an operable wall can merge to create a larger seminar space for workshops. This flexibility solves a logistical problem identified during the strategy phase: the need to host large-scale events without renting external venues.
From this hub, circulation flows naturally through a series of purpose-built settings, planned according to the team’s hybrid work patterns. Small focus rooms support private conversations; open collaboration zones foster quick catch-ups across teams. Acoustic treatments — ceiling baffles, wall panels, and soft finishes — moderate sound levels across the floor. Height-adjustable workstations and ergonomic dual monitors cater to the fast-paced, analytical work of consultants. Rather than imposing rigid corridors, the plan follows the building’s organic form, creating transitions that feel intuitive.

Custom tiered seating in the social hub optimises space efficiency while creating a casual, laidback atmosphere that encourages connection.
Material and formal decisions echo the architecture of Marina One itself. Curved partitions and rounded furniture edges reference the complex’s geometry, while a restrained palette of neutral tones maintains visual coherence. Texture is introduced through woven finishes and soft upholstery in communal zones, subtly differentiating them from the more task-oriented work areas.
Employee representatives were engaged throughout the design and construction process. Change-management sessions introduced new booking systems and shared seating in advance, easing the transition and making the move feel familiar before it happened.

The social hub acts as the cultural epicentre, reflecting Murex’s belief that strong communities and a connected team drive innovation.
Post-occupancy feedback suggests the approach paid off. Teams report more spontaneous collaboration and fewer noise complaints. The variety of settings — from focus rooms to café zones — allows employees to align their environment with the work at hand. Grounded in data rather than assumption, the Murex headquarters demonstrates how thoughtful workplace strategy can translate into measurable impact. At Murex, design and data coalesce into a workspace that not only houses its people but empowers them to thrive.
Conexus Studio didn’t just deliver a design; they changed how we think about space. They challenged our assumptions, and their cohesive design and build team guided us with practical, well-reasoned advice at every stage. Conexus also helped kick-start our change management journey, welcoming our change agents on site during construction and involving them at every step. That early engagement built ownership and made adoption seamless.
