Working in a wool shed has never been more comfortable.

It’s no secret that Sydney’s residential property market is booming. As a result, Australia’s largest property app, Domain Group, approached Siren to help them shake up the office space and transform their heritage warehouse in Pyrmont into their dream home.

A wool store in a previous life, the heritage building boasts incredible, historical elements along with enormous 5,000m2 floor plates that required both careful planning and creative intuition to facilitate the Heritage requirements.

Working closely with Domain Group and their request to create a unique yet professional space, Siren used the idea of home as the driving force to bring cohesion to the multi-storey, open plan workspace.

Driven by creating an outstanding ‘user experience’ the built environment is located mostly to the core. The top floor working areas have a vaulted and light-filled ceiling along with intelligent sit to stand desks – supported by bespoke ply breakout areas with whimsical lighting design and custom-designed vintage style signage – making all the difference in this office fit out which feels like a home away from home.

Placing the Domain Group users at the centre of the design, it was essential for the design to give a sense of home away from home and to incorporate spaces that can be utilised out of working hours for team activities, including wellness, client entertainment and large training sessions.

Siren’s design embodies the spirit of home, through referential detailing of our perceptive understanding of the house, while fostering the ’one team, one company’ approach in the contemporary workplace.

The Ground Floor is divided into a variety of working zones, including a wellness centre, zen space, flexible training room, café/bar area, multiple collaboration areas and, of course, the heart of the building; the grand, lobby atrium.

A balanced combination of work and play, the fitout oozes sophistication and comfort and becomes the perfect place for Domain Group to achieve their culture of passion, energy and desire to be the best.
