A culturally inspired flexible coworking space at Robinson Land Corporation, Philippines, seamlessly blends local heritage with modern design elements to foster collaboration, creativity, and innovation among diverse professionals.

The entrance serves as an inviting gateway, welcoming visitors with a sense of openness and warmth. Envisioned not just as a waiting area, it is also a pulsating social hub where professionals can spontaneously interact, spark connections and collaborate.

To reflect the unique Filipino design ethos, traditional elements like solihiya, a woven rattan material was incorporated, blending it seamlessly with sleek wood accents to create a sophisticated, yet culturally resonant environment.

Nature-inspired patterns adorn the floors, mimicking the lush textures of foliage, softening the transition between the built environment and the natural world. This evokes tranquillity and a grounded connection to nature, harmonising with the modern yet rooted aesthetic.

The Welcoming Secondary Entrance

The secondary entrance acts as an additional welcome lounge, designed to foster community and connection. Board games like chess are available to encourage casual interactions, with a vertical garden visually connecting the space to the main entrance, adding greenery and warmth.

A Versatile Hub

The centrally located pantry doubles as a versatile townhall area, designed for both daily use and larger events. To maximise seating and create a casual hangout spot, bleachers were incorporated, reflecting the design seen in other Work.able Centers. Foliage patterns accent the walls, adding a natural touch that enhances the space’s warmth and appeal. Thoughtful lighting and floor pattern accents distinguish the pantry from the rest of the office, making it a focal point that encourages interaction, collaboration, and community gatherings.

Embracing Filipino Heritage

The huddle booths and areas are infused with distinctly Filipino characteristics, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines. Incorporating “banig,” a woven mat sourced from the mountains of Bukidnon and crafted by the skilled Tagolwanen women weavers, these spaces celebrate traditional craftsmanship. The design of the huddle area mimics a bahay kubo, a traditional Filipino house, further enhancing its cultural significance.

Creating a Flexible, Inviting Boardroom

The boardroom is designed with flexibility in mind, accommodating various functions. The incorporation of wood and natural materials, including bricks, creates a cohesive design that connects the boardroom to the reception area directly in front of it. Movable tables allow for customisable seating configurations, adapting to the needs of each event.

Vibrant Vignettes

Ordinary spaces have been creatively transformed into vibrant selfie spots and focus nooks that stand out and inspire. The special area features neon lights that add a playful touch, along with bold graphic wall designs that harmonise with the overall aesthetic of the centre. These stimulating environments encourage social interactions and offer inviting retreats for concentration, making them integral to the centre’s dynamic atmosphere. Each element is carefully curated to enhance the user experience, blending functionality with artistic flair.
