Drawing inspiration from Electrolux’s Nordic heritage, Aries International creates a biophilic workplace where the Discover Collection by Carpets Inter enhances wellbeing, acoustic comfort and intuitive spatial navigation through texture, performance and design.
Carpets Inter | The modern workplace is evolving beyond conventional office layouts to support flexibility, wellbeing and collaboration. For Electrolux’s new workspace, Aries International embraced this shift by creating a contemporary workplace inspired by the company’s Nordic heritage and the principles of Scandinavian design.
Clean architectural lines, generous natural light and a restrained material palette establish a calm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the office. Rather than separating employees into rigid departments, the design encourages a fluid experience, allowing people to move naturally between focused work, informal interaction and collaborative activities.
At the heart of the concept is the idea of a living ecosystem. Biophilic elements are integrated throughout the workplace, strengthening the connection between people and nature while enhancing comfort and wellbeing. Warm timber finishes, indoor planting and earthy tones create an environment that feels open and inviting.
A key contributor to this workplace experience is the flooring solution. The Discover Collection from Carpets Inter was selected for its ability to combine visual appeal and performance. Inspired by natural textures, the carpet tiles complement the project’s biophilic narrative while reinforcing Scandinavian design principles.
Beyond aesthetics, the flooring plays an important role in defining spatial identity. Variations in tone and texture create subtle transitions between workplace settings, helping employees navigate the office intuitively. Collaborative areas, circulation routes and focused work zones are distinguished without physical partitions, maintaining visual continuity throughout the space.
The Discover Collection also contributes to acoustic comfort. In an open-plan workplace, effective sound management is essential for concentration and productivity. The carpet tiles absorb ambient noise and minimise distractions, supporting a quieter environment.
The result is a workplace that balances functionality, wellbeing and design excellence. Delivered by Aries International and complemented by the Discover Collection from Carpets Inter, the project demonstrates how flooring can shape movement, enhance comfort and enrich the workplace experience.
