MillerKnoll’s 2025 Better World Report highlights impact across Planet, People and Community Pillars.
MillerKnoll, a collective of dynamic design brands, released its 2025 Better World Report on 10 November detailing how design can drive meaningful change for people, communities and the planet. From diverting many hundreds of tonnes of furniture from landfills to fostering global volunteerism, the report reflects the company’s belief that good design is a force for good.
“The 2025 Better World Report is a testament to how design shapes a better future,” said Andi Owen, President and CEO of MillerKnoll. “Our teams bring MillerKnoll’s purpose to life every day through innovation, sustainability and community engagement. Their creativity and commitment fuel our ability to make a lasting, positive impact worldwide.”
About the 2025 Better World Report
The 2025 MillerKnoll Better World Report tracks the company’s Financial Year 2025¹ performance against key environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives, highlighting measurable progress and bold initiatives that align with the company’s purpose.
Designing for the planet
MillerKnoll approaches design as a problem-solving method and recognises that few challenges are more urgent than addressing the impact of a warming planet. The company views this as a call to action: to deliver exceptional products while safeguarding the Earth for future generations.
In FY2025, MillerKnoll achieved 100 per cent renewable energy² across all manufacturing facilities worldwide, reaching this goal ahead of schedule. Through responsible design and circular initiatives, the company also diverted 1.9 million kilograms of furniture from landfills – the equivalent of keeping 102,439 Aeron Chairs in use and out of waste streams.
“The Better World Report is a measure of our progress, but also a reminder of the work ahead,” said Gabe Wing, Vice President of Sustainability. “Embedding sustainability into how we design and operate isn’t just about reducing impact; it’s about shaping a better future through good design and responsible stewardship.”
Strengthening communities
MillerKnoll is committed to creating meaningful impact in the communities where its associates live and work. This commitment guides the company’s philanthropic efforts and inspires it to give back a portion of company profits to causes that align with its shared values.
Last year, MillerKnoll associates came together for the annual Global Day of Purpose, volunteering across 175 cities and five continents. Collectively, associates contributed over 13,000 hours of service through 400 volunteer events, achieving 100% brand engagement. Building on this momentum, the company hosted its FY2026 Day of Purpose recently with a record number of volunteer events around the globe.
Empowering people
At MillerKnoll, belonging is more than an aspiration – it’s a practice. The company believes that fostering an inclusive, engaged culture is essential to its success. Its approach to talent and development goes beyond staffing teams to shaping the future of the organisation together.
MillerKnoll continues to strengthen its culture of connection and belonging. In this past year, the company celebrated new Watercarriers, meaning associates who have been with the organisation for more than 20 years. As of FY2025, 2,100 associates are considered Watercarriers – representing 20 per cent of the global workforce. Additionally, participation and engagement in MillerKnoll’s annual Associate Experience Survey have continued to rise year-on-year, reflecting a shared sense of pride, purpose and commitment across the company.
